MISSION — New wine bar tavern Big Finish opened mid-March in the former Monk’s Kettle space on 16th Street in the Mission, according to the San Francisco Standard. Trekkies will feel at home here thanks to owner Adam Manson, who keeps a steady stream of Star Trek: The Next Generation rolling on the televisions. But beyond that, Big Finish offers 50 wines by the glass with a food menu that offers “Munchies,” — read: shareable appetizer bites like Texan pimento cheese dip and sweet and sour meatballs — “Solids suspended in liquid and salad” (or, soup and salad options), and tavern plates.

MISSION — Amaro brand Brucato Amaro is expanding into the bar world with Bar Brucato, a 6,000-square-foot distillery with a 40-seat restaurant and bar, per the San Francisco Chronicle. Chef Chip King prepared a flavorful menu with items like lamb riblets in a smoked beet barbecue sauce, kohlrabi salad with smoked creme fraiche and in-season citrus, and harissa-spiced hangar steak…
