Update, May 14: Berkeley police have released new, unedited footage of their nearly hour-long April 13 standoff with Ricardo Ruiz that ended when an officer shot him.
Berkeleyside requested the unedited footage immediately after the incident. The department released a condensed video of the encounter — a common practice for California police agencies — two days before sending Berkeleyside the full footage.
