Two more California Walgreens stores have closed; Company to shutter 1,200 locations by 2027

California is once again at the center of Walgreens’ ongoing downsizing effort, with at least eight Golden State locations shuttering this spring and summer as part of the company’s plan to close 1,200 underperforming stores across the U.S. by 2027.

Two more California stores—one in Hayward and another in Los Gatos— officially closed their doors on May 22, according to the company.
