CHP Plans Sobriety and Driver-License Checkpoint in Contra Costa County on May 30

CONTRA COSTA COUNTY – The California Highway Patrol’s Contra Costa Area office announced it will conduct a combined sobriety and driver-license checkpoint on Friday, May 30, 2025, at an undisclosed location somewhere within Contra Costa County.

“The goal … is to ensure the safe passage of each and every motorist by targeting roads where there is a high frequency of intoxicated or unlicensed drivers,” the CHP said in a social-media notice posted Wednesday. The agency described checkpoints as “a proven effective tool” that supplements routine patrols.
