Suspect driver arrested for SF hit-and-run that seriously injured child

SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — A driver accused of crashing into a mother and her 5-year-old child in San Francisco last month before fleeing the scene was arrested on Sunday, the San Francisco Police Department announced. The child suffered life-threatening injuries in the collision.

Officers responded to the crash on May 24 at 6:14 p.m. in the area of 31st Avenue and Clement Street. Investigators said the 5-year-old child was riding on a push bike when the vehicle hit the family and the driver sped off.

Following an investigation, authorities identified the suspect driver as 35-year-old Jonathan Tyler Lam, SFPD said. A search warrant was obtained for Lam and the involved vehicle.

Officers located Lam on Sunday around 6 p.m. at Serramonte Center in Daly City. He was arrested and booked into the San Francisco County Jail for felony hit-and-run…
