Castro Valley High School teacher Matt Johanson was awarded a prestigious Writer of the Year award by the Outdoor Writers Association of California (OWAC) at its conference earlier this month.
Johanson was one of fourteen recipients of the OWAC’s annual awards. Matt was recognized for his “outstanding body of work,” including two first-place awards for Best Outdoor News Article and Best Conference-Related Work, and a second-place win for Best Audio & Video, according to OWAC Executive Director Bob Semerau.
