Hundreds of Bay Area tech layoffs jolt TurboTax maker as cuts persist

MOUNTAIN VIEW — TurboTax maker Intuit has revealed plans to chop hundreds of Bay Area jobs and hundreds more in Southern California in a disquieting reminder that the tech sector’s layoffs persist.

Intuit has decided to cut well over 300 jobs in Mountain View and more than 200 jobs in San Diego, according to official WARN notice information that the state Employment Development Department has posted.
