(KRON) — A locally founded Japanese supermarket is expanding with another Bay Area location. Osaka Marketplace is opening in Foster City this November, according to a news release by Foster City.
Osaka Marketplace is located at the Edgewater Place Shopping Center, taking over the former space of Lucky’s grocery store, the city said. The supermarket joins a shopping plaza with other Asian eateries: Ritha Indian Restaurant, Chinese restaurant Rickshaw Corner, Korean barbecue restaurant Warehouse Buffet and Quickly.

Osaka Marketplace offers “a wide selection of Japanese groceries, fresh produce, seafood, ready-to-eat meals, and hard-to-find imported goods all under one roof,” Foster City officials wrote in a press release published on July 10.
Only the Fremont Osaka Marketplace is currently open. An Osaka Marketplace is also set to open in Pleasant Hill, across the street from Century Theaters. That location is “coming soon,” according to downtown Pleasant Hill’s website…
