ANTIOCH, Calif. — A man died Wednesday evening, August 6, 2025, after being hit by two vehicles on eastbound State Route 4 just west of Somerville Road, according to the California Highway Patrol’s Contra Costa Area.
What happened
CHP says an adult male pedestrian entered the eastbound lanes from the right shoulder around 7:37 p.m. He moved into the far left lane, directly in the path of an oncoming Ford van, which struck him. A Subaru Forester traveling directly behind the van then immediately struck the pedestrian as well. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
