Tlaloc Sabor Mexicano, the sister restaurant to Berkeley’s Cancun Sabor Mexicano, has suddenly closed after 25 years, as first reported by the San Francisco Business Times. The three-story Mexican restaurant, known for its farm-to-table ingredients and large salsa bar and located in San Francisco’s Financial District, closed on Monday due to “rising costs,” the restaurant’s team shared in an announcement on their website and on social media.
“The landlord sold the building,” Miguel Isidro, the front-of-house supervisor at Cancun, told SFGATE on Wednesday. “And it was short notice, so we didn’t have the time to complete a plan for the relocation, but we are working on it.”
