Groundbreaking Bay Area coffee roaster closing headquarters café

Red Bay Coffee, the Bay Area’s most prominent Black-owned coffee company, will close its flagship Oakland headquarters café at the end of the month — bringing a five-year chapter for the community hub to a close.

“After five wonderful years of serving the Fruitvale District, we will be closing our Red Bay HQ Café at the end of November,” the company wrote in an Instagram post Tuesday. “We want to express our deepest gratitude for all the love and support you’ve shown us over the years.”
