(KRON) — A man was shot dead by police officers in Redwood City Tuesday afternoon, according to the Redwood City Police Department.
The shooting happened around 2:31 p.m. in the area of Hemlock Avenue near Linden and Madrone streets. Police were responding to a 911 call for a man firing a gun into the sidewalk before running away.
“As officers attempted to communicate with the suspect, he retrieved a firearm from his person and pointed it toward the officers,” Redwood City PD said in a press release Tuesday night. “Less-lethal and lethal munitions were fired. The suspect was struck, subdued, and immediately provided medical aid by officers at the scene.”…
