UC Berkeley fraternity death: Student who died was not an Alpha Delta Phi member

A 19-year-old UC Berkeley student who died in a suspected drowning in a pool at an Alpha Delta Phi house party was not a fraternity member, according to the organization’s national office.

“Our hearts go out to the student’s family and friends,” Alpha Delta Phi’s executive director, Steve Ehrfurth, said in a statement. He added that the fraternity suspended the Cal chapter “immediately following the initial reports” of the incident.
