OPD seeks help identifying suspect in elderly assault, carjacking

(KRON) — Police in Oakland are asking for the community’s assistance in identifying a carjacking suspect who severely injured an elderly victim in October. A photo of the suspect was released by authorities on Tuesday.

The carjacking incident occurred on October 1 in the 1100 block of Clay Street, the Oakland Police Department said. Responding officers found a 77-year-old victim suffering critical injuries.

A female suspect was seen on video obtained by police, the department said. OPD described the suspect as a Black female who is approximately 20 to 30 years of age. She is between 5 feet 5 inches tall and 5 feet 7 inches tall and has a thin build with black hair in a ponytail.
