(KRON) — The Oakland Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred in the early morning hours Friday. OPD responded at around 3:15 a.m. to a report of a shooting in the 1600 block of Solano Way.
Arriving at the scene, officers found two people with apparent gunshot wounds. One of them was pronounced dead at the scene. The other victim was transported to the hospital and is in stable condition.

OPD Homicide Division investigators responded and are conducting a follow-up investigation. The victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
