Bay Area beach fence fight escalates as ‘Lucky Luke’ associate files lawsuit to halt removal

An associate of the convicted fraudster who ordered the building of a fence restricting public access to Thornton State Beach has filed a lawsuit trying to keep Daly City from tearing it down as soon as next week.

Yitong Wen, 26, whom earlier court documents describe as the girlfriend of Luke Brugnara, asked the state Superior Court on Monday for an emergency temporary restraining order preserving the fence, which has been partially torn down three times recently by people who oppose it.

Brugnara, 62, erected the long chain-link fence in early January, spanning four long-vacant oceanfront parcels, saying the land is owned by Olympic Way LLC, a company with which he is affiliated.
