Suspected thief of Mayor Barbara Lee’s SUV was camping at City Hall for days, source says

Oakland Mayor Barbara Lee’s city-owned SUV was stolen this week after the thief apparently swiped the keys from Lee’s office at City Hall, according to the spokesman for the Oakland Police Officers Association, who cited preliminary police reports.

The vehicle, a Ford Expedition, was later recovered in Vallejo, Oakland POA spokesman Sam Singer said. The details of the theft were corroborated by two other people familiar with the incident.
