Video: Beloved Oakland barbecue spot Everett and Jones targeted in early morning burglary

(KRON) — Burglars who broke into a beloved Oakland barbecue spot in the early hours of Tuesday morning were caught on surveillance video. Everett and Jones on Macarthur Boulevard was the victim of a commercial burglary at around 4:20 a.m. Tuesday.

The burglar took a small tablet that was used for mobile orders and payments and broke glass to gain entrance. A representative with Everett and Jones valued the stolen item at around $800 and the broken glass at around $1500.

A representative with the restaurant told KRON4 that another restaurant on the same block was hit around 4 a.m. KRON4 has not confirmed this.

The Oakland Police Department did confirm that a commercial burglary occurred on the same block right around the same time. When OPD officers arrived, they saw signs of forced entry but did not locate any suspects.
