OPD seizes vehicles tied to illegal sideshows

The Oakland Police Department has seized more than 70 vehicles this year connected to illegal sideshows and reckless driving in Oakland. In 2025, officers towed 195 vehicles and arrested 23 people for police evasion, reckless driving, and sideshow activity.

Recently, investigators recovered five vehicles from Stockton, San Pablo, Hayward, San Francisco, and Pittsburg linked to these incidents. OPD warns that vehicles used in sideshows may be towed and held for 30 days.
