The Bay Area has lost one of its few Malaysian restaurants

Damansara, one of San Francisco’s few Malaysian restaurants, has closed.

Damansara’s website states that it is now operating “by appointment only,” offering private events, catering services, and supper club buyouts. The Noe Valley restaurant announced in December that it would close for dine-in service and shift in 2026 to more affordable, takeout-only lunch and dinner.

In an email Tuesday, owner Tracy Goh confirmed the closure. “‘Disheartening’ would be the mildest way to describe my experience as a grassroots SF restaurant owner in the 2020s,” she wrote…
