Dog remains found after small bridge fire in Fremont

On March 3, 2026, around 9:05 PM, Fremont Police and Fremont Fire Department responded to a small fire in the bike lane of a bridge near Niles Boulevard and Linda Drive. Firefighters quickly extinguished the flames, which involved burning wood. During the response, the remains of a dog were discovered in the extinguished fire. The dog was minimally burned, and it is not yet known if it died in the fire or beforehand.
