After a decade of selling French pastries, popular East Bay bakery La Noisette Sweets is closing.
La Noisette’s last day at 2701 Eighth St. in Berkeley will be April 1, owner Alain Shocron announced on Instagram. He plans to retire to spend more time with his family and focus on his health, which has fallen by the wayside after years of getting to the bakery at 2 a.m. to make pastries.
It’s a bittersweet end for Shocron, who said La Noisette has been his haven for a decade…
