Cops Collar Suspect After Teen on E-Bike Is Run Down in Foster City

A 15-year-old boy riding an electric bicycle was hospitalized after a hit-and-run in Foster City, where police say a driver struck the teen and then took off. The collision happened at about 6:20 PM on Feb. 20 on Shell Boulevard near Bounty Drive. Medical personnel treated the juvenile at the scene before transporting him to a local hospital, and officers arrived to find the involved driver already gone.

In a press release via the City of Foster City, the department said detectives identified and arrested a suspect and submitted the case to the San Mateo County District Attorney’s Office for prosecution under California Vehicle Code section 20001, which covers hit-and-run causing injury.
