Photos: Large “No Kings” Rally Reaches Walnut Creek on Saturday

WALNUT CREEK, CALIFORNIA – A large “No Kings” demonstration reached Walnut Creek on Saturday as part of a five-mile “Solidarity Span” stretching through central Contra Costa County, with protesters lining sections of North Main Street and connecting to parallel demonstrations in Pleasant Hill and Concord.

One notable twist: despite the event’s strong Walnut Creek presence, organizers had explicitly said ahead of time that there would be no formal rally in Walnut Creek itself.

On the Indivisible ReSisters Contra Costa event page, organizers said the city was unable to approve a large enough space elsewhere because of another event in Broadway Plaza. Instead, they directed people to kickoff rallies in Concord and Pleasant Hill before joining the long human-chain-style protest route that extended into Walnut Creek…
