Japanese restaurant in downtown Berkeley closing next month: ‘Been a tough 6 1/2 years’

(KRON) — A Japanese restaurant is closing in downtown Berkeley. Fish & Bird is shutting down next month, the restaurant announced on social media.

Fish & Bird, located at 2451 Shattuck Ave., will serve its final meal on Sunday, June 14. The closure comes six-and-a-half years since first opened its doors — enduring the economic effects of the COVID-19 pandemic as a newly opened restaurant.
