Five Las Vegas Strip Hotels I Keep Coming Back To

Additional Coverage:

For many, a trip to Las Vegas traditionally meant gambling and nightlife, but the city has evolved into a vibrant destination offering world-class spas, golf courses, and dining experiences. As a couple who tied the knot in Las Vegas in 2018, my husband and I have returned frequently, exploring every hotel along the Strip. Over the years, we’ve identified five standout resorts that offer something special beyond the usual attractions.

Mandalay Bay: A Southern Strip Oasis

Located toward the southern end of the Strip, Mandalay Bay is worth the visit for its wide array of activities. Highlights include the Shark Reef Aquarium and an 18-hole “crazy golf” course.

Its 11-acre pool complex is particularly impressive, featuring a lazy river, wave pool, and the adults-only Moorea Beach Club with cabanas and daybeds available for rent. Spacious rooms with floor-to-ceiling windows enhance the bright and open feel, even in the more affordable accommodations.

The Reserve at Park MGM: Sleek Luxury with Privacy

Formerly known as NoMad Las Vegas, The Reserve occupies the top four floors of Park MGM and offers a more refined, moody ambiance compared to the main hotel’s vibrant decor. The rooms feel like upscale city apartments, featuring original artwork and hardwood floors. One major perk is the quiet pool exclusively for Reserve guests, who also enjoy access to all Park MGM pools and cabanas, even during off-hours.

Vdara: A Family-Friendly, Casino-Free Retreat

Vdara stands out as a rare casino-free resort on the Strip, making it ideal for families, non-gamblers, and business travelers. The suites offer full kitchens and apartment-style living, complemented by expansive windows with stunning views of the Bellagio fountains and Vegas sunsets. For those wanting to try their luck, nearby casinos at Aria, Bellagio, and The Cosmopolitan are easily accessible.

Flamingo: The Best Budget Choice

Right in the heart of the Strip, the Flamingo offers unbeatable value without sacrificing location. Guests can easily access the monorail, the High Roller Ferris wheel, and shopping destinations like the Linq Promenade.

The resort’s outdoor garden and Wildlife Habitat feature live Chilean flamingos, adding a unique charm. The adults-only GO Pool provides a lively day-club atmosphere, complete with music, waterfalls, and even outdoor craps tables.

Dining highlights include Bugsy & Meyer’s Steakhouse, known for its vintage decor and inviting ambiance.

Wynn Las Vegas: The Ultimate Favorite

Among all the hotels we’ve experienced, Wynn Las Vegas and its sister property Encore remain our top choice. The rooms are modern, spacious, and thoughtfully equipped with amenities like tablets for controlling room features and ordering room service.

The dining options are exceptional, featuring several high-end restaurants and one of the few buffets on the Strip. A favorite tradition of ours is dining at SW Steakhouse followed by enjoying the whimsical lakeside light show on the patio.

Las Vegas today is about much more than just gaming-it’s a dynamic destination with something to offer every type of visitor. These five hotels exemplify the city’s diverse appeal, whether you’re seeking relaxation, family-friendly comforts, or a touch of luxury.
