Jon Stewart Mocks Donald Trumps Orange Tan and Walkout on TV Interview

Additional Coverage:

Jon Stewart took aim at former President Donald Trump during the June 8 episode of The Daily Show, delivering his signature sharp critique with a side of humor. Addressing Trump’s planned attendance at Game 3 of the NBA Finals between the New York Knicks and the San Antonio Spurs, Stewart joked about the president’s distinctive orange tan.

“Even the president of the United States has Knicks Fever,” Stewart quipped. “He’s dyed his face Knicks orange and the back of his hands Knicks, let’s say, purple.” The episode also touched on various news items, including the unusual online backlash Elmo faced from New Yorkers during the Finals.

Stewart didn’t stop there. He took another jab at Trump’s appearance when discussing the former president’s recent abrupt exit from an interview after being pressed on his unfounded claims that the 2020 election was rigged.

Calling out Trump’s behavior, Stewart remarked, “You could view this as the hissy-fit of an incredibly fragile man-baby, whose paper-thin skin can’t handle venturing out of the sycophantic embrace of his tongue-bathing acolytes. Or, uh, actually, I don’t know how else you can view it. It really is just that.”

Adding a humorous pop culture reference, Stewart asked, “By the way, when did Trump go to his stylist and say, ‘Hey, give me the Hugh Grant oompa loompa’?” alluding to the actor’s role in the 2023 film Wonka.

The contentious interview in question took place on Meet the Press, where NBC host Kristen Welker challenged Trump on his record and repeated election fraud claims. Welker confronted Trump about campaigning on promises to avoid war, noting that he initiated conflict with Iran early in his second term. Trump dismissed the criticism, pivoting to topics like China and the US-Mexico border before reiterating his baseless assertions about the 2020 election.

When Welker pressed for evidence, particularly regarding recent elections in California, Trump abruptly ended the interview. As he left, he accused the press and Meet the Press of being “crooked,” underscoring the contentious nature of the exchange.

Stewart’s sharp commentary underscores the ongoing tension surrounding Trump’s public appearances and unsubstantiated claims, mixing biting humor with pointed political critique.
