Princess Kate Shines at 2026 Trooping the Colour Ceremony
LONDON – Princess Kate appeared joyful and radiant as she took part in the 2026 Trooping the Colour, the annual event celebrating King Charles’ official birthday. The 44-year-old Princess of Wales joined her family on June 13 for the traditional parade in London, showcasing her signature grace and style.
For the occasion, Kate chose a powder-blue and white ensemble complete with a coordinating hat. She was seen riding in a carriage alongside her three children outside Buckingham Palace. Princess Charlotte sported a charming white hair bow, while Prince George and Prince Louis enthusiastically waved to the gathered crowds.
As Colonel of the Regiment for the Irish Guard, Kate proudly wore an Irish Guards brooch, a subtle nod to her honorary military role. Her light blue jacket was designed by Catherine Walker, the late French-born designer whose creations were famously worn by Princess Diana. This choice paid tribute to her late mother-in-law, recalling Diana’s first Trooping the Colour appearance 45 years ago.
Kate’s outfit echoed last year’s blue tones, when she and Charlotte were seen in matching aqua outfits. The long-sleeved coat dress with contrasting white details also brought to mind a look Diana wore during a 1992 visit to Delhi, India.
The Trooping the Colour ceremony is a grand military parade celebrating the monarch’s official birthday, despite King Charles’ actual birthday being November 14. This year marked Charles’ fourth Trooping the Colour as king.
The event also held special significance for Kate, who last year made her first appearance since announcing her cancer remission. Now fully back to her public duties, Kate continues to participate in royal engagements and family events, including the recent wedding of Princess Anne’s son, Peter Phillips.
At this year’s celebration, Kate also wore a cream-colored tweed midi dress by Roland Mouret, styled with a belted bodice, pleated skirt, and a pointed collar. She complemented her look with a wide-brim straw hat adorned with a neutral bow and classic nude pumps.
Joining Kate were Prince William, the heir to the throne, and their children: 12-year-old Prince George and 8-year-old Prince Louis, as they honored the monarch in this time-honored tradition.
