Country music artist Jelly Roll has filed for divorce from his wife, Bunnie Xo, ending their marriage after nearly a decade. According to court documents filed on May 18 in Williamson County, Tennessee, Jelly Roll cited irreconcilable differences and listed their separation date as May 9.
The couple, who met in 2015 and married in a quick Las Vegas ceremony in August 2016, have had a publicly documented relationship with its share of challenges. Bunnie Xo, born Alisa DeFord, became stepmother to Jelly Roll’s two children, Bailee and Noah.
Despite recent public displays of affection-including walking the red carpet and sharing moments together at the 2026 Grammy Awards in February-their relationship has faced significant trials. Jelly Roll even acknowledged Bunnie during his acceptance speech for Best Contemporary Country Album at that event.

Still, they attempted to rebuild their relationship, renewing their vows in 2023 at the same Las Vegas chapel where they first wed. At the time, Bunnie emphasized their commitment to growth and mutual acceptance, acknowledging the many changes they had both undergone over the years.
While they aimed to break generational patterns and support one another, the recent divorce filing signals that the couple has chosen to part ways. Representatives for Jelly Roll have not yet commented on the development.
