- Jelly Roll and Bunnie Xo had picked out surrogate for twins in months before divorce (irishstar.com)
Country artist Jelly Roll, whose real name is Jason Bradley DeFord, has filed for divorce from his wife of ten years, Bunnie Xo (Alisa DeFord), just months after the couple selected a surrogate to carry twins. The divorce filing took place in Tennessee in May 2026, marking the end of their marriage.
Bunnie Xo, a former sex worker turned podcast host, candidly shared details of their relationship and struggles with infertility in her February memoir, Stripped Down: Unfiltered and Unapologetic. She revealed that the couple had been exploring in vitro fertilization (IVF) and surrogacy as paths to expand their family. In the book, Bunnie described their chosen surrogate as “the sweetest woman ever” and detailed plans to start IVF treatments soon.
Despite their efforts, Jelly Roll and Bunnie did not have any children together. Jelly Roll has two children from previous relationships: a teenage daughter and a nine-year-old son born just a week before the couple’s spontaneous Las Vegas wedding in 2016.
Their decade-long marriage faced numerous challenges, including Jelly Roll’s 10-month affair in 2018 and his notable weight loss transformation. The couple’s “loss of synchronicity” surfaced publicly in the weeks leading up to the divorce announcement.
The split comes amid a turbulent period for Jelly Roll’s career. Earlier this year, he faced backlash over a controversial speech and interview that prompted speculation about his political affiliations. Additionally, several tour dates on his joint venture with Post Malone, The Big A– Stadium Tour Part 2, were canceled, and Jelly Roll withdrew from Kid Rock’s Rock the Country tour in Sioux Falls.
TMZ confirmed the divorce as a mutual decision and described it as a private family matter. Both Jelly Roll and Bunnie Xo have been contacted for comment.
This development marks a significant turn in the personal and professional life of the country star, whose journey has included both hardship and resilience.
