The footage, seemingly from a nearby security camera, shows tourists casually walking about before a series of five loud gunshots rings out.

Panic quickly spreads through the crowd as people scramble for safety, darting toward nearby buildings and around the block. Yelling and screams fill the air amid the chaos. Some pedestrians, confused and frightened, freeze or hesitate in the middle of the street, while others dash into the roadway, narrowly avoiding slow-moving vehicles on Seventh Avenue.

Authorities apprehended a man at the scene and recovered a firearm, though it has not yet been confirmed whether the weapon belonged to the suspect. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported, and the NYPD continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

Additional footage from ground level shows a bystander narrating the unfolding events, describing people fighting moments before the shots were fired.
