Teen Falls 50 Feet After Leaving Disneyland Ride Early

A 13-year-old boy escaped serious injury after falling from a moving Disneyland ride and tumbling down its 50-foot waterfall, officials confirmed. The incident occurred Sunday at the Tiana’s Bayou Adventure attraction at Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California, located about 40 miles southeast of downtown Los Angeles.

Cellphone footage, first obtained by TMZ and verified by NBC News, captures the boy twisting and descending the waterfall just behind a ride vehicle filled with passengers. A nearby visitor named Paul recounted hearing a bystander scream and quickly checking on his grandson, who witnessed the fall. He described the boy’s tumble down the drop as resembling a “rag doll.”

Paul also shared a photo showing visitors gathered at the bottom of the ride, looking up toward the waterfall in the aftermath.

Disneyland officials reported that a cast member immediately halted the ride following the incident. The boy was transported to a hospital as a precaution and was later released.

The California Division of Occupational Safety and Health, responsible for regulating amusement park rides, conducted an investigation and found no operational issues with the attraction, spokesperson Katherine Wzorek said in an email on Tuesday.

Disneyland confirmed that the Tiana’s Bayou Adventure ride resumed operation on Tuesday.
