Sixteen passengers eager for a vacation were barred from boarding a Carnival Cruise after a large brawl broke out at a customs checkpoint in Miami-Dade County.
The altercation occurred on Monday as travelers waited in line for security clearance. According to local law enforcement, the fight involved two feuding families, with more than a dozen individuals of various ages and genders participating. The chaotic scene was captured on video by bystanders and quickly circulated on social media, where viewers linked it to other recent disturbances involving Carnival Cruises.
The footage showed punches being thrown, people wrestling on the ground, and luggage flying through the air. Crowd control barriers were knocked down as nearby passengers scrambled to get away from the melee.
Carnival Cruise representatives confirmed that no arrests were made and no charges were filed. However, the company announced that all 16 individuals involved had been placed on its “Do Not Sail” list, effectively banning them from future cruises. A spokesperson expressed appreciation for law enforcement’s prompt response and emphasized that such behavior would not be tolerated.
The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office described the incident as “mutual combat” and noted that none of the parties involved wished to press charges against one another.
This event is not the first violent episode associated with Carnival Cruises this year. In May, two women were arrested following a physical fight while settling their onboard accounts. Both were subsequently banned from Carnival cruises and lost their Diamond-member status.
Additionally, the cruise line faced a tragic incident in November 2025 when 18-year-old Anna Kepner was found murdered aboard the Carnival Horizon. An FBI investigation led to the accusation of her 16-year-old stepbrother in connection with the homicide.
Carnival continues to monitor and address safety concerns as it navigates these challenges within its fleet.
