- Priscilla Presley Honors Late Grandson Benjamin Keough with a Heartbreaking, Wordless Tribute (parade.com)
Priscilla Presley recently offered a quiet, heartfelt tribute to her late grandson, Benjamin Keough, through a simple Instagram post. Foregoing a lengthy public statement, the Hollywood matriarch shared just one photo of Ben, accompanied only by a broken heart emoji. This understated gesture resonated deeply with fans who continue to follow the Presley family’s journey.
The post, which was also liked by Ben’s sister, actress and producer Riley Keough, featured a striking image of Ben, who bore a strong resemblance to both his mother, Lisa Marie Presley, and grandfather, Elvis Presley. To accompany the photo, Priscilla chose John Lennon’s poignant song “Beautiful Boy (Darling Boy),” a tribute Lennon wrote for his son Sean Ono Lennon.
Fans responded with an outpouring of sympathy for Priscilla, who was married to Elvis Presley for six years and was his partner for 14. Comments included words of comfort, such as, “Sending you and your family all my love, Priscilla,” and, “Sending hugs to the family,” reflecting the deep empathy felt by many.
Benjamin Keough tragically passed away on July 12, 2020, with the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office confirming that he died by suicide at the age of 27.
Priscilla Presley has faced a series of profound losses in recent years. A year after Ben’s death, she mourned the passing of her mother, Anna Lillian Iversen, who died at 95. Then, on January 12, 2023, Lisa Marie Presley passed away from cardiac arrest related to complications following weight loss surgery, just over two years after her son’s death.
Reflecting on these tragedies, Priscilla described the pain as “unbearable,” telling ABC News, “I lost my mother, I lost my grandson, and [then] I lost my daughter.”
