Olympic gymnastics star Sunisa “Suni” Lee has officially announced her return to competitive gymnastics.

The 23-year-old shared the exciting news in a video posted to her Instagram on Tuesday, featuring highlights from her past training sessions and competitions. In the clip, Lee’s voiceover declares, “I know what I’m capable of.

I’m willing to do whatever it takes to get there.” The video closes with a bold message: “This is more than a comeback, stay tuned.”

Lee’s announcement comes with the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics just four years away, giving her ample time to prepare for another run at the Games.

USA Gymnastics quickly welcomed her back, reposting Lee’s video on Instagram with the caption, “The journey continues! Welcome back, Suni!”

Fellow gymnasts and Olympians also chimed in with enthusiasm-Jordan Chiles exclaimed, “She’s back!!!!” while Hezly Rivera added a simple, joyful “yesssss.”

A two-time Olympian, Lee has already amassed an impressive six Olympic medals, including two golds, one silver, and three bronzes. She is particularly known for her prowess on the uneven bars, where she made history at the 2024 Paris Olympics by becoming the first American woman to win two medals in that event.

Lee’s journey hasn’t been without challenges. She has been open about her battle with two rare kidney diseases, and in 2025, she brought one of her doctors, Dr.

Marcia Faustin, as her guest to the ESPY Awards. After receiving the 2025 ESPY for Best Comeback Athlete, Lee thanked Dr.

Faustin during her acceptance speech, saying, “Thank you for guiding me through the toughest moments, reading every scan and report by my side.”

As Suni Lee gears up for her next chapter in gymnastics, fans and fellow athletes alike eagerly await what promises to be an inspiring comeback.
