Josh Duhamel Says Hes Officially Too Old for His 32-Year-Old Wife and Sparks Talk

Additional Coverage:

Actor Josh Duhamel recently had a moment of clarity about his marriage that made him reflect on his age and family in a new way.

On the July 13 episode of The HoneyDew With Ryan Sickler podcast, Duhamel opened up about an unexpected realization regarding the age of his wife, Audra Mari, compared to his youngest sister, Cassidy. The story took him back to his college days when he was playing football at Minot State University and his mother was expecting Cassidy.

“I remember looking up at the stands and I saw my mom and had this bump,” he recalled. “And I’m like, ‘Is my mom pregnant?’

I’m 21 years old and she’s having another baby.”

Years later, while looking at a photo of himself holding baby Cassidy, Duhamel noticed something surprising. “I looked at the photo and I looked at my wife and I said, ‘You and Cassidy are exactly the same age,’” he said.

That’s when it hit him: “I am officially too old for you. They’re literally like months apart in age.

I never looked at it like that until I saw that photo.”

The comment sparked varied reactions online. Some viewers found the remark unsettling or inappropriate, with one TikTok user writing, “Men always proud of themselves when they got a ‘young’ one is disturbing.” Others felt the age difference was a non-issue, emphasizing that both Duhamel and Mari are consenting adults and that the joke was harmless.

Josh Duhamel and Audra Mari, who was once crowned Miss World America, married in 2022. They welcomed their son, Shepherd, in January 2024.

Duhamel also has a 13-year-old son, Axl, with his ex-wife, singer Fergie. Despite their separation, Duhamel speaks warmly about both women, noting that he has “no regrets” about his past marriage and calling Mari an “amazing wife” and Fergie an “amazing mom.”

He has even shared that the two women maintain a close relationship.
