Swedish pop singer Zara Larsson has responded to fan concerns about the high cost of tickets for her upcoming Bangkok concert. In a TikTok video posted Tuesday, Larsson acknowledged that while ticket prices for her “Midnight Sun Tour” are consistent with the market rates for international shows in Bangkok, she agrees that they remain expensive for many fans.
Larsson expressed a desire for more affordable options, noting that concerts should not be events that fans have to save months for in order to attend. “I wish there was a cheaper entry tier to make the concert more accessible,” she said, emphasizing that live music shouldn’t feel like a “super exclusive thing.”
The singer clarified that she does not currently have control over ticket pricing but hopes to be more involved in that process for future tours. “For my next tour, I want to be part of the ticket pricing decisions,” Larsson said, signaling a commitment to making concerts more accessible.
Her Bangkok show, scheduled for November 1, features tickets priced between 2,800 and 9,000 Thai Baht (approximately $84 to $270). In addition to Thailand, Larsson’s tour includes dates across Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, South Korea, and the Philippines.
Larsson’s popularity has surged recently, with her earlier hits like “Lush Life” and “Ain’t My Fault” climbing the charts once again, alongside new releases such as “Midnight Sun” and her collaboration with PinkPantheress, “Stateside + Zara Larsson.”
The issue of costly concert tickets has become more prominent in the industry, especially following major tours like Taylor Swift’s “The Eras Tour.” Secondary markets often inflate prices further, making it challenging for fans to secure affordable access to live performances. Larsson’s comments highlight an ongoing conversation about balancing market demands with fan accessibility in the live music scene.
