Fresh from the excitement of D23, where Disney unveiled a host of new attractions and park expansions, Disneyland had a special visit from some notable guests on Main Street, U.S.A.
On Thursday, August 20, Matt Damon embraced his role as the ultimate “Disney Dad,” arriving at the Anaheim park with his wife Luciana and their four daughters to celebrate the 18th birthday of their youngest, Gia.
The family fully embraced the Disney spirit with coordinated custom graphic T-shirts. Birthday girl Gia stood out in a shirt featuring an outline of Sleeping Beauty Castle adorned with Mickey Mouse ears and the label “birthday girl.” Meanwhile, Matt, Luciana, and Gia’s older sisters-Alexia, 27; Isabella, 20; and Stella, 15-wore matching shirts proudly marked “birthday crew.”
The group paused for a classic photo in front of the iconic giant Mickey Mouse pumpkin on Main Street, just ahead of Disneyland Resort’s Halloween Time festivities, which run through October 31.
This outing marked a welcome break for Damon amidst a busy production schedule. Despite his demanding career, the actor has been candid about prioritizing family time, especially as his daughters grow older. “I think about it a lot, especially as my kids are getting older: really trying to be here now,” Damon recently shared.
The Damon family is no stranger to balancing hectic schedules, whether attending international film premieres or enjoying early park openings together.
As the daughters pursue their own creative paths, their talents continue to shine. Isabella, 20, recently signed with IMG Models, while eldest daughter Alexia is making strides in film production, contributing to the camera department on Matt and Ben Affleck’s upcoming 2024 film, The Instigators.
No matter where their careers take them, the Damon family demonstrated that nothing quite matches the joy of a Disney celebration complete with custom tees and quality time at The Happiest Place on Earth.
