Danica Patrick Praises Karoline Leavitt as She Steps Down as White House Press Secretary
Danica Patrick summed up Karoline Leavitt’s tenure as White House press secretary with just one word: “Legend.”
Leavitt, 29, concluded her two-year stint in the role on Friday, having served under former President Donald Trump. When she took on the position in November 2024, she became the youngest White House press secretary in U.S. history. Known for her tough, no-nonsense style with the press and unwavering loyalty to Trump, Leavitt quickly made a name for herself.
Patrick, 44, who campaigned actively for Trump during the 2024 presidential race and remains a vocal supporter, took to social media to express her admiration. Posting on Instagram, she shared a highlight reel titled “Karoline Leavitt Core” from the White House account, showcasing some of Leavitt’s sharp exchanges with reporters. The compilation included moments where Leavitt called out what she considered “stupid” questions, labeled all illegal immigrants as “criminals,” challenged CNN anchor Kaitlan Collins, and dismissed certain reporters as “hacks.”
Though not known to be close personally, Patrick and Leavitt share a deep connection rooted in their allegiance to Trump. When Leavitt announced her departure in August, Patrick celebrated her accomplishments publicly, writing, “What an absolute legend you are @karolineleavitt for the job you have done as press secretary for the White House!” alongside a group photo of the two.
Patrick praised Leavitt’s wit and intelligence in delivering news and “truth,” congratulating her on the decision to step back to focus on motherhood and family life. Leavitt, a mother of two, is set to move into an advisory role for Trump’s super PAC, MAGA Inc.
Patrick herself rose to fame as a star in IndyCar and NASCAR during the 2000s and 2010s and has never shied away from expressing her political views. Recently serving as a FOX Sports analyst at the Freedom 250 Grand Prix, she publicly commended Trump for bringing the IndyCar Series to Washington, D.C., a move that sparked some controversy among viewers.
Since leaving her Formula 1 analyst role with Sky Sports in March 2026, Patrick has remained active in the media as a motorsports commentator and conservative speaker, also hosting her own podcast, Pretty Intense. Her ongoing support for Trump continues to shape her public profile as she and Leavitt both navigate their next chapters.
