- Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani Mourn the Death of Family Member and Sweet Friend: ‘Miss Her Forever’ (parade.com)
Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani have shared the sad news that their cherished dog, Betty, has passed away at the age of 18.
On Saturday, September 5, Stefani took to Instagram to announce the heartbreaking loss, writing, “It’s with the heaviest hearts that we share our sweet Betty has gone to heaven 💔🕊️🐾.” She accompanied her message with a touching montage of videos and photos set to the couple’s duet, “Nobody But You.”
The clips offer a glimpse into the many special moments Betty enjoyed with the couple and Stefani’s children-Zuma, Apollo, and Kingston-over nearly two decades. Betty frequently traveled with Shelton and Stefani on work trips, joining them on their tour bus, attending concert rehearsals, and even appearing in the music video for their 2019 hit “Nobody But You.”
Among the most heartfelt scenes in the video are the casual, everyday moments at their Ten Point Ranch in Tishomingo, Oklahoma, where Betty was often seen playing and keeping the family company.
Stefani reflected on the joy Betty brought to their lives, writing, “She made us all smile for 18 years… We’re going to miss her forever. Thank you, Betty, for all the love and joy you brought into our lives 🦋💗 gx.”
Though Betty originally belonged to Shelton before their marriage on July 3, 2021, the dog quickly became very attached to Stefani. Shelton has noted that Betty is now very much Gwen’s dog, joking about her jealousy. Stefani added that Betty loved both of them dearly.
Alongside Betty, the couple also shares other pets, including a mixed-breed dog named Ginger, continuing their life surrounded by furry family members.
