Giada De Laurentiis Told to Eat Pasta Before Dancing with the Stars Debut

As Giada De Laurentiis prepares for the upcoming premiere of Dancing with the Stars, her fellow TV chefs have rallied to offer their culinary advice for staying energized during the competition. Friends like Guy Fieri, Alex Guarnaschelli, Sunny Anderson, and others all seemed to agree on one key recommendation: pasta.

Over a FaceTime chat, Guy Fieri expressed his nervous excitement for Giada’s big debut. “The whole food world’s going to be watching,” he said.

“I don’t want to bring this on you, but I’m nervous, Giada. I mean, like genuinely nervous.”

His top food pick? A flavorful tequila turkey fettuccine alfredo.

And with a confident grin, he added, “If we were betting on the Kentucky Derby, I’d be putting money on your horse.”

Sunny Anderson echoed the sentiment, encouraging Giada to indulge in hearty, satisfying meals to keep her fueled through the intense physical activity. “You need to eat the burger.

This is the time, honey,” she advised. “But if you can’t handle the burger, you can always have some spaghetti and some bruschetta.

Some orecchiette, you know, the pasta!”

Cookbook author and TV personality Katie Lee also recommended sticking to carbs for energy. “I would go for buttered pasta,” she said.

“Or olive oil pasta…so you’ll have lots of energy. It’s easy to digest, and it’s comforting.

So it’ll make you feel good.”

Other chefs shared similar advice. Michael Symon suggested spaghetti pomodoro, while Rocco DiSpirito emphasized the importance of pasta during such a physically demanding endeavor, likening the competition to marathon training.

“I stuck to our favorite food, pasta. A lot of that because you need lots of energy.”

Alex Guarnaschelli chimed in with a bit of humor, recommending spaghetti as a major emotional comfort food, and joking that her other tip was to “panic eat” five candy bars if needed.

With so much expert guidance pointing toward pasta, it seems Giada has a delicious strategy to keep her energy high as she takes on the dance floor this season.
