Rosie O’Donnell is set to make a notable return to Broadway with a limited engagement in The Rocky Horror Show this October, marking a significant moment in her career since relocating to Ireland.

The multi-talented actress, comedian, and television personality will step into the role of the Narrator for a special two-week run from October 6 through October 18. She will be filling in for Tony nominee Rachel Dratch, who will be on a brief hiatus before resuming her role on October 20.

This upcoming stage appearance follows O’Donnell’s recent success as a guest host on Jimmy Kimmel Live! in August, where she achieved the highest ratings ever recorded by a guest host on the late-night show, blending her trademark humor with sharp political insights.

The Rocky Horror Show revival, directed by Tony Award-winner Sam Pinkleton, opened at Studio 54 on Broadway on April 23, 2026, and has already garnered nine Tony Award nominations, including Best Revival of a Musical.

Though O’Donnell is widely recognized for her film roles in classics like A League of Their Own, Sleepless in Seattle, and Harriet the Spy, as well as her influential television career with The View and The Rosie O’Donnell Show, she also has substantial theater experience. She recently earned critical acclaim for her one-woman show, Common Knowledge, Off-Broadway this past summer.

Her last Broadway role was in 2005 as Golde in Fiddler on the Roof. Additionally, O’Donnell has produced and performed in several Broadway productions, including Taboo, Seussical, and the 1994 revival of Grease, and has hosted the Tony Awards three times.

O’Donnell will be joining a talented ensemble cast in The Rocky Horror Show, which features Lorna Courtney, Amber Gray, Kevin McHale, Jimin Moon, George Salazar, Sherie Rene Scott, Jake Shears, and Valentina, alongside a strong supporting cast.

The announcement of O’Donnell’s involvement has been met with enthusiasm on social media, where fans have celebrated what some are calling a “Rosie Renaissance,” applauding her dynamic return to the American stage.

As she balances her life between Ireland and the U.S., O’Donnell’s upcoming Broadway stint promises to be a highlight of the fall theater season, blending her distinctive charisma with a beloved cult classic.
