Patrick Clancy and his wife, Dr. Rachel Danis, made a rare public appearance on CBS News’ “60 Minutes” this past Sunday, marking Clancy’s first interview since the widely followed trial of his ex-wife, Lindsay Clancy.
In a preview of the interview, Patrick Clancy expressed his ongoing struggle with the tragic events, saying, “I did the best I could with what I had at the time,” and added, “I live with the outcome. I live with it every day.” He shared that he draws solace from memories of his late children-Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and Callan, 8 months-revealing that he often feels as if they are silently asking for help.
During the conversation, Clancy recounted his hope that his youngest son, Callan, might survive after emergency responders revived his heartbeat. “I really thought there was a chance that Callan would live,” he said.
“I was just holding out hope for that, wanting to raise at least one child and give him the best life I could.” However, upon arriving at the hospital and seeing the doctor’s expression, he realized the prognosis was grim.
Lindsay Clancy’s trial concluded earlier this month with a hung jury. The 12-person panel was deadlocked 11 to 1, unable to unanimously agree on a verdict.
Lindsay had pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity, claiming she suffered from postpartum depression and psychosis when she tragically strangled her three children in their Duxbury, Massachusetts home in January 2023. Lindsay herself survived a suicide attempt that left her wheelchair-bound due to a fractured spine.
Dr. Rachel Danis, Patrick Clancy’s new wife, spoke out in support of her husband during the interview.
She described him as “the most selfless and supportive partner” and expressed frustration over what she called a “twisted” narrative surrounding their relationship. Danis recounted how they met casually-“I was just a girl that met a guy running in Central Park on a really cold Saturday”-emphasizing the normalcy of their connection.
Patrick Clancy finalized his divorce from Lindsay in February 2024, just over a year after the devastating events. He and Danis were married two years later, in April 2026, in New York City.
In the wake of the trial, Clancy became the target of harmful conspiracy theories circulated by online true-crime enthusiasts, accusing him without evidence of involvement in his children’s deaths. His legal team has vowed to pursue action against those spreading these damaging falsehoods. A statement from his attorney condemned the “relentless, escalating, and destructive defamation campaign” fueled by social media figures seeking attention and profit at Clancy’s expense.
The statement highlighted how the intense media coverage and public scrutiny have compounded Clancy’s grief, resulting in threats to his reputation, livelihood, and personal safety. “Patrick has no choice but to address this situation-with the clear goal of stopping injurious behavior, holding perpetrators accountable, and refocusing on what matters: honoring the memory of Cora, Dawson, and Callan, and supporting women facing perinatal mental health challenges,” the statement read.
“Enough is enough,” it concluded. “This spread of blatant and baseless falsehoods must stop.
Those responsible will face consequences, including legal action. Law enforcement has been notified.”
