Mustaine revealed that he is battling Dupuytren’s contracture, a progressive and degenerative condition affecting the tendons in his left hand. Faced with the prospect of undergoing complicated surgery in the future, Mustaine has chosen to complete Megadeth’s upcoming tour before stepping away from live performances for good.

While this marks a poignant closing chapter for Megadeth’s live shows, Mustaine plans to capture the energy of the final tour through extensive live recordings, which will be released as a definitive live album.
