Rock icon Rod Stewart has announced that his upcoming 2027 tour will be his final one.
In a heartfelt message shared on social media, the 81-year-old singer revealed plans for The Final Encore Tour, making it clear that while he is not retiring, this will be his last rock and roll tour. “Ladies and gentlemen, after much deliberation and sadness, I have to announce next year will be my last tour ever, ever, ever,” Stewart said. He expressed deep gratitude to his fans, saying, “I wanna thank you for everything you’ve given me, and hopefully I’ve given you something in return.”
The tour is set to launch in Dublin on April 23, 2027, and wrap up in Hannover, Germany, on July 24, featuring 21 dates across Europe. Highlights include five stops in the U.K., as well as shows in Copenhagen, Amsterdam, Helsinki, Krakow, and Prague.
Synth-pop singer Howard Jones will join Stewart as a supporting act. Tickets will be available through Stewart’s official website.
In addition to the European dates, Stewart will perform a handful of shows in the United States, including a special appearance in Savannah, Georgia, on March 8, 2027-his first there in nearly four decades.
This announcement comes shortly after Stewart canceled a series of shows due to health concerns. Earlier this year, he underwent a routine coronary stent procedure following an episode during a Utah concert where he nearly fainted and required oxygen support.
His wife, Penny Lancaster, shared that doctors found an underlying heart issue, which was addressed promptly. Stewart also battled respiratory infections and vocal strain around the same time.
“I’m already feeling better and very much on the mend,” Stewart said in a statement while expressing regret over the canceled shows. “I’m deeply disappointed to miss these shows and sorry to let my fans down.”
Fans and fellow musicians flooded social media with messages of support and admiration for Stewart’s enduring energy and decades of musical contributions. One fan wrote, “Hard to believe this man’s in his 80s… Wonderful entertainer throughout the decades… Bravo!”
Another added, “After 53 years and nearly 300 shows across four continents, I am heartbroken that I just have one more year of your AMAZING live shows. Thank you for a lifetime of music that created incredible moments and memories.”
As Stewart prepares for this final chapter on the road, fans worldwide will have one last chance to experience his legendary performances live.
