Ella Langley’s breakout hit “Choosin’ Texas” continues to dominate the music scene, amassing an impressive 22.3 million official streams in the United States during the week of September 18-24. This marks a 2% increase from the previous week, highlighting the song’s enduring popularity.
Released through SAWGOD/Columbia Records with promotion support from Triple Tigers on country radio, “Choosin’ Texas” also garnered 57.9 million radio airplay audience impressions-slightly down by 1%-and saw a notable 55% jump in U.S. sales, reaching 9,000 copies sold during the tracking period.
The song’s remarkable success is underscored by its record-breaking run on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. For the week dated October 3, 2026, “Choosin’ Texas” held the No. 1 spot for a 24th consecutive week, extending its lead as the longest-running No. 1 in Hot 100 history.
Langley’s achievement surpassed Mariah Carey’s iconic “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” which spent 22 weeks at the top, while other notable chart-toppers like Shaboozey’s “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” and Lil Nas X’s “Old Town Road” each spent 19 weeks at No. 1.
In addition to its Hot 100 success, “Choosin’ Texas” remains at No. 1 on the Streaming Songs chart for the 24th week and continues to lead the Digital Song Sales chart, holding the top position for 19 weeks-a new record. This feat surpasses BTS’s “Butter” and “Dynamite,” both of which spent 18 weeks at No. 1, with Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee’s “Despacito” close behind at 17 weeks.
Langley expressed her gratitude on Instagram after setting the Hot 100 record, writing, “Thank you so much for loving this song,” and adding, “I’m running out of hyperboles to describe how I feel.”
The momentum of “Choosin’ Texas” has also helped Langley secure a second top 10 hit on the Hot 100 with her song “Be Her,” currently sitting at No. 10. This dual success underscores her growing influence across multiple Billboard charts and signals her crossover appeal beyond the country genre.
Langley’s breakthrough year includes winning her first MTV Video Music Award for Best Country Song with “Choosin’ Texas.” Sharing the moment with fans, she posted a photo of the award on Instagram Story, captioned “First VMA,” accompanied by a teary-eyed emoji.
On tour with her Dandelion Tour, Langley has candidly discussed the pressures of her rapid rise to fame, including criticism of her appearance, voice, and style. Reflecting on her journey, she remarked, “Growing up in a small town, this is saying a lot.
I don’t think I’ve ever had more opinions on myself in my life than I have in this last year.” Despite the challenges, she remains proud of the determination that brought her to this point.
Looking ahead, Langley enters the 2026 CMA Awards with nine nominations, further solidifying her place as one of country music’s brightest stars. For now, “Choosin’ Texas” remains the centerpiece of an extraordinary year for the young artist.
