Royal Expert Suggests Prince William and Kate Middleton May Sympathize with Harry and Meghan Amid Paparazzi Incident

Prince William and Kate Middleton are likely to feel considerable sympathy for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle following a recent paparazzi intrusion near the Sussexes’ children’s school, according to royal analyst Lynn Carratt.

Earlier this week, a spokesperson for Harry and Meghan disclosed that two international photographers were spotted peering into the grounds of the school attended by their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. The photographers have been criticized for an “unacceptable intrusion into the privacy of children” and described as “extraordinarily reckless.”

Security personnel working for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex observed that the photographers appeared to be collaborating. Although the protection officers recorded the license plate of the vehicle involved, it was reportedly a rental car. In response, Harry and Meghan are said to have issued warnings to other parents at the school to remain vigilant.

Reflecting on this security breach, Lynn Carratt, of E20 Communication, spoke exclusively with The Mirror US, suggesting that this incident could foster greater understanding between the Sussexes and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. Carratt highlighted that Kate Middleton had previously faced a similar paparazzi violation in 2012.

At that time, Kate was photographed topless while sunbathing, using a long-lens camera from a distance. Although British media outlets adhered to strict ethical guidelines and declined to publish the images, the French magazine Closer printed them, circumventing UK privacy standards.

William and Kate responded with legal action in France, and in 2017, the courts ruled the photos constituted a gross invasion of privacy. Closer’s editor and owner were fined €100,000 in damages and received the maximum criminal penalties allowed by French law.

Since the photographers at Archie and Lilibet’s school are believed to be international, they would not be bound by UK editorial rules. However, British media would be prohibited from using any photos obtained through such means.

Carratt commented on the recent incident, stating, “This latest situation involving photographers allegedly looking into the grounds of Archie and Lilibet’s school may be one of those rare moments where William and Kate fully understand how Harry and Meghan feel.”

She further emphasized that William and Kate have consistently been “fiercely protective” of their own children-Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis-carefully maintaining boundaries between their public roles and private family life.

“I would expect there to be significant sympathy for Harry and Meghan regarding what has reportedly taken place at the school,” Carratt added.

While the expert suggested that William and Kate might reach out privately to Harry and Meghan, she cautioned that this incident alone is unlikely to resolve the longstanding tensions between the brothers. “We don’t know if such a gesture will occur, and it would be premature to assume this event will suddenly heal years of difficulties,” she concluded.
