Kylie Kelce recently issued a public apology to Catherine, Princess of Wales, during this week’s episode of her Not Gonna Lie podcast.
The 34-year-old host addressed a misstep from the September 24 episode, in which she invited the royal guest but mistakenly referred to her as “Princess Kate, Duchess of Cambridge.” On Thursday’s podcast, Kylie clarified that she did not mean any disrespect by the incorrect title and expressed her commitment to using the proper form of address moving forward.
“I love learning, so I was unaware that calling Princess Catherine ‘Princess Kate’ was offensive,” Kylie explained. “I didn’t know that.
Now I know that. Now I will proceed accordingly.
I apologize for the mistake. I want to refer to people in the most respectful way and how they feel respected.”
She went on to say, “Princess Catherine, or the Princess of Wales, I apologize. I will get that sorted immediately, starting now.”
Kylie also expressed genuine admiration for the Princess of Wales, highlighting various aspects of her life she finds inspiring. “I would love to speak to the Princess of Wales, OK?
Because of many reasons. She is an incredible woman.
She has children. She played field hockey.
She battled cancer. There are so many things I would love to speak to her about.”
While acknowledging the likelihood that the princess’s schedule wouldn’t allow for a podcast appearance, Kylie remained hopeful.
Catherine, Princess of Wales, was born Catherine Elizabeth Middleton and married Prince William in 2011. The couple has three children-Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis-and resides at Kensington Palace. The princess is known for her dedication to various charitable causes, particularly those focused on children’s welfare.
Kylie Kelce, married to former Philadelphia Eagles star Jason Kelce, has found herself in the spotlight recently not only for this royal apology but also for comments about her brother-in-law, NFL player Travis Kelce, and pop star Taylor Swift’s wedding. The much-publicized wedding took place at Madison Square Garden on July 3 and attracted intense media attention.
Earlier this year, Kylie pushed back on persistent questions about the wedding plans in an April podcast episode, saying, “I just want to say to literally everybody, I know it usually comes from a good place, not always, but quit asking my mother-in-law and me about upcoming nuptials. Nobody is f-ing telling you anything. I don’t have any details.”
With this recent apology, Kylie Kelce appears eager to set the record straight and maintain respectful dialogue, especially when it comes to public figures like the Princess of Wales.
