Kevin McGarry, known for his role as Mountie Nathan Grant on Hallmark Channel’s popular series When Calls The Heart (WCTH), recently reflected on how the show has profoundly shaped both his career and personal life. Since joining the cast in 2019, McGarry has found not only a close-knit community on set but also a new family at home.
During the 10th annual Hearties Family Reunion on October 3, McGarry shared with fans how much his life has changed since becoming part of the WCTH family. “My life has changed quite a bit,” he said, referring to the birth of his baby boy this spring with wife Kayla Wallace, whom he met through the series. The couple’s relationship blossomed on set starting in season six, and they have since married and started a family together.
McGarry expressed gratitude for both the friendships formed on set and the joy of returning home each day to his wife and child. “Every day, I am so grateful for joining the show, meeting all of you, getting to come to work, and getting to live the life that has been given to me through the show,” he shared with the enthusiastic crowd.
Wallace, who played Fiona Miller on WCTH until 2024 before moving on to a role as attorney Rebecca Falcone on Landman, has been a significant part of McGarry’s journey both professionally and personally. The pair confirmed their relationship publicly in 2020, announced their engagement in 2022, and tied the knot in 2024.
Fans can look forward to the return of When Calls The Heart for its 14th season in January 2027, with all previous seasons available for streaming on Hallmark+. Meanwhile, McGarry is set to co-star with Meghan Ory in The Spirit of Halloween, premiering October 10.
This new chapter in McGarry’s life reflects the deep connections and lasting impact that a television family can create, both on and off screen.
