Saturday Night Live took a humorous jab at former President Donald Trump’s unusual posture during a recent press briefing. On the October 3 edition of Weekend Update, hosts Colin Jost and Michael Che zeroed in on Trump’s distinctive stance as he addressed the press about artificial intelligence.
The footage showed Trump, 80, twisting his upper body away from the direction his feet were pointed, with one leg awkwardly angled across the other at the knee. This odd positioning quickly became a point of comedic focus.
The sketch followed SNL’s introduction of Trump aide Natalie Harp in a new segment poking fun at her unwavering loyalty to the former president. Jost kicked off the Weekend Update by noting the White House’s recent decision to exclude CNN, MSNBC, and Politico from the press pool covering Trump’s trip to Texas mid-flight.
A doctored image of Air Force One was displayed, showing four people falling from the plane, eliciting laughter from the audience. Che then chimed in with a witty comparison, saying, “President Trump, who now has the exact same posture as Bullwinkle, said he convinced AI executives to sign a deal that is ‘morally binding.’ You know, like the devil.”
On screen, an image of Trump leaning forward awkwardly was placed next to the cartoon character Bullwinkle J. Moose, amplifying the joke.
Che continued with playful sarcasm, mentioning Trump’s claim that the new White House ballroom will feature armed drones. Mimicking a childlike voice, he added, “And a mall and an e-wevator, and a w-aser gun and a giant water s-wide.”
Fans of the show took to social media praising the segment. One viewer exclaimed, “YEEEEES WE NEEDED THE WEEKEND UPDATE SO BADLY!
IMPEACH TRUMP!” while another said, “Thank God for Weekend Update.
It’s the only thing worth watching on SNL now.”
The spotlight on Trump’s physicality comes amid growing speculation about his health. On September 28, Trump addressed the press outside the White House, introducing his new terminology for artificial intelligence-renaming it “SI” for Super Intelligence after signing an executive order.
While his words drew attention, many were distracted by his unusual stance. Comments on social media ranged from amusement to concern: “I have never seen someone stand like that?
Lol,” one user wrote. Another questioned, “What is going on with this guy’s legs?”
A third joked, “His stance is like a puppet; the feet weirdly touching the ground.” Meanwhile, some expressed worry about his well-being, noting, “Walks with a gait and stands with hunch.
Such a frail old man.”
The comedic spotlight on Trump’s posture underscores how even subtle physical mannerisms can become fodder for public commentary and satire.
